Matt also said it would be great to see me back at uni doing a masters or phd or starting another degree. Wouldn't I love to. But a) what topic could I possibly choose to research which would hold my interest long enough, b) how could I ever chain together enough words to 'qualify' c) how the hell would I support myself?!

*sigh*

I caught up with an old and dear uni friend the other day and after chatting about a range of subjects - including our life-threatening illnesses (he is hiv+; I am battling pancreatic cancer) - he told me having cancer has changed me. A few months ago I wasn't sure I was going to make it this far!

With my usual slackness do I finally update my livejournal. Don't expect anything exciting though!

Amanda and I have decided its time to do some serious gardening, so, while she has been diligently digging a large vegie patch, I have drilled holes in our old, rusted wheel barrow and we planted herbs in it.

No chemo next week then just 3 more before I have my next scan and they decided whether or not I'll get radiotherapy. I'm thinking about going away for a couple of days but I don't know where. Money is a little tight...

If I had someone to take my framed paintings around for me to places who might hang / sell them I wouldn't have to worry about it myself. I need a manager!

I've had my visit to the oncologist and I start my chemo on June 4th. I go once a week for 7 weeks the have a week off. Then once a week for 3 weeks then a week off ... continuing up to 4 months. Then I have 5 weeks of radiotherapy (5 days a week). I'm going to be pretty tired by the end of it all! And low on funds after driving there so often ( Read more... )

I got Mum to agree to come to a 'memory clinic' with me tomorrow to see if anything can be done to improve her's. It remains to be seen if she will actually come...
